Engine and performance
The current Creta offers three engines: a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol (113bhp/144Nm), a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol (157.81bhp/253Nm), and a 1.5-litre diesel (114bhp/250Nm) — paired across four transmission choices including a 6-speed manual, iVT (CVT), 6-speed torque-converter automatic, and a 7-speed dual-clutch. That breadth of choice is unusual in the segment and is arguably Creta’s strongest structural advantage over the Seltos, which offers a narrower transmission lineup.
Comfort and features
From the S(O) trim upward, the Creta adds a panoramic sunroof, and higher variants get dual 10.25-inch displays (instrument cluster + infotainment) along with Level 2 ADAS on the range-topping King variant.
Safety
This is the most important honest caveat in this review: as of this writing, the current-generation (2024 facelift onward) Creta has not received a published Bharat NCAP rating. An older, pre-facelift Creta scored 3 stars in a 2022 Global NCAP test, but that result should not be read onto the current car, which uses a different structure. All variants get 6 airbags standard and Level 2 ADAS on the top trim, but buyers who want a current, independently verified crash-test result should factor in that one isn’t published yet.
